A low growing aquatic plant with violet-blue flowers and dark green leaves. Pickerelweed grows in clusters and can grow in shallow to deep water in shady or sunny location and is one of the most commonly used plants in aquascaping.
This shallow water plant has green leaves and white flowers on taller stalks. It flowers throughout the year and does well in full sun or light shade.
This lily has fragrant white flowers in the spring and circular leaves that lay on the surface of the water. Lillies grow from a bulb and are planted in deep water.

Maidencane is a native aquatic grass and can grow in any water depth. It does best in full sun but can tolerate some shade. This grass flowers in the fall and provides good food for waterfowl.
Giant bulrush is a versitile aquatic plant that grows in sun or light shade and shallow or deep water. It can grow to 10' tall and is used best as an accent on the edge of a property or in mass plantings.
Also known as alligator flag, thalia is a tall, broad leaved herbaceous plant. It has small purple flowers that bloom in the fall and makes a nice accent plant.

Lizard's tail is named after its floppy tail-like white flower. It grows in colonies in shady wet areas and is 1'-2' tall.
Also known as cowlily, this plant grows in deep water and has a yellow flower that opens slightly. It can grow in sun or shade and can be distinguished from the white water lily by its oblong leaves that sometimes grow above the surface of the water.

This native perennial has bright yellow flowers in the summer and grows in wet soils in full sun to part shade. Canna grows in clumps and has a tendency to spread in areas with favorable conditions by its underground rhizome.
A commonly planted grass for areas with moist soil. It has thick green leaves and an interesting flower and makes a nice contrast when planted with cordgrass.
There are several species of native ferns used in wetland plantings. Ferns grow well in shady, wet areas.

A low growing wetland plant with striking violet flowers that bloom in spring. Iris can tolerate sun but prefers shady areas and rich wet soil.
Cordgrass is a mainstay in conservation area plantings because it is relatively low growing, easy to maintain, and looks great in mass plantings. It has a good root system and helps to prevent erosion.

Bald Cypress trees grow well in wet soil or in the water with cypress "knees" growing up from the roots.
This wetland tree can grow up to fourty feet and has a fiery red color on the leaves in the fall.
An evergreen shrub or small tree that grows up to 25' tall in moist soils and in sunny locations.
